Mac Eye Brows
Does anyone know any GOOD sets of makeup brushes that's inexpensive?
I purchased a set of mac brushes and a set of bare essentials brushes, but unfortunately, I lost them. I cant afford to purchase anymore at this time but I'm willing to buy a cheaper version for temporary use if its good. I already tried looking on Ebay, but they're all really expensive or fake. Does anyone know any brands that are inexpensive but okay quality?
I need:
Large Contour brush
Squared Angled brow brush
Squared Shader brush
Duo Fibre Fan brush
Concealer brush
Large and Small Powder brush
Eye liner Brush
...pretty much a set of brushes!
Thanks guys!
All these answers are GREAT, I don't understand why someone would give you all thumbs down...

The scary thing about putting chemicals on your skin is that it is worse than ingesting them because your skin does not operate in the same way as your digestive system. When you eat something, the enzymes in your saliva and stomach will help the process of breaking down the toxins and flushing them out of your body. But when we put products that have chemicals on our skin, then we absorb those toxins right into our blood stream, and there is no filtering system in our body that can protect us. That is why I harp on this issue. It has serious ramifications on your well being, and you can control it with your own choices.
It has been suggested that on average, women who use make up on a daily basis are absorbing 5 pounds of chemicals each year. This would be coming from your toiletries, and beauty products. These chemicals land right inside your body and are known to be linked to deadly side effects like Cancer. Parabens, which may be listed as methyl paraben, ethyl paraben, propyl paraben, butyl paraben, isobutyl paraben or E216, have caused great concerns with their links to Cancer. The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health stated nearly 900 of the chemicals used in cosmetics are toxic. There are many vendors representing natural cosmetics today, so you have many more choices than previously. However, given that there are no federal certifications or official guidelines for beauty products, so anyone can claim a product is natural or organic. Please be aware of that. My goal is to raise your level of awareness, and make you a savvy buyer. Look at the ingredients, and ask questions.
If you must wear nail polish, look on-line for a brand that does not use Formaldehyde; most brands or nearly all use this ingredient as a preservative. It is suspected to have links to throat Cancer, and it is known to irritate the skin, and eyes. No wonder. It is also used in furniture polish, and many other household cleaning products.
The next wake up call is Talcum powder. Cosmetic talcum powder is made up of 90% mineral talc, and it is used in a wide range of beauty products, including eye shadows, baby powders, feminine hygene products, blush, and most powder based cosmetics. The FDA considered cosmetic talc to be safe, however, in 1993, the National Toxicology Programme (NTP), in Britain, deemed it unsafe. Their study showed that rats exposed to cosmetic talc via inhalation developed a range of inflammatory lung disorders including Cancer of the lungs and rare adrenol Cancers. More significantly, eight studies have indicated a 30-60% increase in the risk of developing Ovarian Cancer in women using talc-based body powder in the genital area!
Please avoid deoderants and anti-perspirants that contain parabens and aluminum. Why? These chemicals have come under scrutiny lately because they can demonstrate a osteogenic or hormonal effect in studies on animals and cells. Osteogen is known to play a part in the onset and progression of Cancer. In 2004, Dr. Philip Darbre, a senior lecturer in oncology at the University of Reading, that showed that Parabens could be detected in human breast tissue. Parabens are in many consumer products, but when a person's exposure becomes more chronic, it becomes more likely that they could adhere to the DNA and encourage the development of damaged, or Cancer cells to proliferate.
A separate Danish study showed that it only took one hour for the body to absorb parabens in cosmetic creams into the blood stream. The most common entry point is under the arms as with shaving your skin is more porous and the outer layer of the skin has been stripped away in the process of shaving. Here, you also have lymph nodes near by, which can speed up the damaged cell development once it begins. But that is not the only concern amongst the toxic elements. Aside from Parabens and Talc,we have Aluminum in the line of possible triggers of Cancer. Just think about it. Why would you want to put a heavy metal in a product that goes under your arm, where you have lymph nodes? It is crazy!
So, please, share this article with a friend or loved one. Don't underestimate the potential risk of absorbing toxins into your skin with beauty products. Don't assume because beauty products are there to make you beautiful, that they are doing so at no cost! Feel the empowerment of choosing wisely.
