Will the ingredients in my body butter work better than lotion?
I got this really cheap body butter, and I want to know if it will work, even though it doesn't contain shea butter or cocoa butter. Will it work better than the cheap lotion?
the ingredients are: water, cprylic/capric triglyceride, mineral oil, glycerin, cetyl alcohol, ozokerite, glyceryl stearate, polysorbate 60, dimethicone, sorbitan stearate, fragrance, tocopheryl acetate, methylparaben, propylparaben
No! Those ingredients are HORRIBLE. You should avoid several of them (mineral oil and parabens) at all costs. Mineral oil temporarily makes your skin feel smooth, but that's because it's a nasty by-product of crude oil processing (yes, crude oil like the kind that's used for cars), and it takes your body FOREVER to get rid of it. Parabens are endocrine disruptors, meaning they actually mess up your hormones and can cause all kinds of problems. Try looking for a good lotion or body butter at a health food store. (Don't go to The Body Shop; their ingredients are always bad.)
