How waterproof is MAC Face and Body?

I want to invest in a waterproof foundation for my beach holiday that I can wear all day in the heat and whilst swimming.
I have read good reviews about MAC Face and body but the reviews don't detail just how waterproof it is. Have any swimmers tried this in water at all? Or can you recommend a better product?

Hi! I've tried it on a couple of clients... one for a wedding and one for a beach party swimmer.

It depends on how long you'll be staying in the water.. if you are keeping your body and face in the water for longer than an hour... not really.

It does however withstand heat, sweat on any part of the body. Only problem if you are looking for heavy coverage on your face to cover acne, it's not worth your money honestly. It's really light though and usually great in apply with an airbrush machine with a set powder like MAC Invisible Set Powder.

It now seems that Amazon Kindle wireless ebook reader have stolen a bit of a march on the - yet to be released - Sony Digital Book Reader Daily Edition. In this endless battle, with outright victory going to the one that dominates those ebook reader reviews, Amazon have reduced the price of their Kindle2 model in an attempt to capture as much, pre Sony Daily Edition launch, business as possible.

The announcement is being seen in some quarters as a panic move, by Amazon, as the new Daily is also Sonys attempt to topple the Kindle from the number one position it has enjoyed since it's launch, back in February 2009. So just what has this new wireless reader got that has Amazon running scared?

Let's start with what is always the most imposing feature of any ebook reader, the display. The Sony sports an all new 175mm (7") touch screen that has the latest e-Ink Vizplex technology, giving crystal clear, crisp, paper like qualities and will be touch screen enabled. It will also support landscape and portrait reading modes, handling it much the same as the iPhone. It will also be the first of Sony's reading devices to support wireless connectivity.

The networking capability, delivered in the US through AT and T's 3G (broadband) cellular network, is probably the feature that gives Amazon the most concern. It will allow users to connect directly to the Sony e-Book Store and download not only books but magazines and daily newspapers as well. This puts the Daily in direct competition with the Kindle2.

Like the Kindle, this wireless e-book reader has no monthly network usage fees and with the supplied cables, you can also load, direct from your Mac, PC or laptop, documents and content such as electronic books. Another advantage the Sony Digital Book Reader has over the Kindle is the file formats it can handle. It supports the "freebie" format. PDF - with reflow capability, Microsoft Word, BBeB, .txt and other text based file formats, but the biggest news is it's ability to handle the Epub format.

This is great news, on the back of Googles announcement that over one million ebooks will be available, many thousands for free, from the Google library in this fast emerging format. It does seem the industry is trying to calm customer concern about propriety file formats and at least try to offer a format that will allow them to swap digital book readers without loosing their library, something that would have happened with first generation models. Now when you look at the fact the Kindle does not support this format you can start to see why they are starting to panic.

The bad news is that this wireless ebook reader will not be appearing on any ebook reader reviews until some time in December when it will make it's debut in the stores, priced about $399. You can see now why this Sony digital book readers got the Kindle running scared.
